The World Cup Part 1

Hello Family and Friends,

Today had been such an anticipated one.  I was so excited for the game between England and the USA in the World Cup.  Lance was working and I had planned my whole day around the game.  One thing to know about me.  I LOVE football....soccer as it is known to my American friends.  I am a big fan of Manchester United and bought the particular package with Dish Network so I could watch my beloved game.  Lance has no interest in the game, nor do my girls, so I watch almost every game, ok every game by myself.  They often come into the Family Room to check on me when I jump around screaming and shouting.  I miss the days when my brother Jared and I used to watch football together, along with our friend, Rich.

I put the flag outside, I put on my England Football Shirt and had lots of yummy treats ready.
The game started out really well.  Just 4 minutes in and Gerrard scored.  I have never cheered Gerrard in my life as I am NOT a fan of Liverpool but you bet I was cheering him now.  I was so confident England would win.

Then in the 40th minute, so close to half time, despair and gloom hit.  One of the USA players kicked the ball (I don't even remember his name)....he kicked it right at England's Goal Keeper.
I will now control my words about the lovely Mr Green.......the ball went right passed him after he had stopped it going right in and it just simply rolled right over the goal line.  Shock, horror, panic, disbelief.  I could barely believe my eyes.  I honestly could not believe what I was seeing, what I saw.  England 1 - USA 1  and that is how the game ended.

I still cannot believe the outcome of this game.  I love living in the States.  Heck my husband and all my kids are American, but I root for England through and through.  I am not a US Citizen, nor a dual citizen.  I am a British Citizen and that is how it will stay.

After the game, our good friend Brock Stuart came over to visit.  He brought his Fiancee with him and I let 'Lexi' know, she sure picked a special guy to marry.   I told Brock that the next time England or the USA play a game, I would need to invite Todd Saxey over or I would need to go to ...in Todd's own words - "A CHEEKY Todd`s World Cup Party."

If England are to get anywhere in this World Cup - they are going to HAVE to do something.  They could be facing Germany or Brazil very soon !!!

A picture from home - Thanks Helen for sending this to me.  It made me smile - as did the BLUE BLUE sky!

Have a wonderful day!

The Karate Kid

Hello Family & Friends,

I am not doing so well with our family blog am I?  I had every intention of posting to this at least once a week but alas.  There is something that gets in the way - It is called LIFE.  Sometimes I feel I am a great Mom, other times I think I am an average Mom and then I think I am a terrible Mom.  Not terrible as in abusive or nasty but simply because I have so much going on in my life, I need to slow down and smell the roses.

Our son, John known as JD recently joined Karate.  He is really enjoying it and it is so cute to see him bow his head as he enters and leaves the 'Dojo'.
Here are some pictures from his first event that just happened to be at his school.  He was so excited.

He could barely wait to get to the van on Wednesday when I picked him up so he could tell me that on the 26th of this month he will be trying out for his YELLOW belt.  He showed me all the moves he needs to take for the test and keeps asking me "when is it time for the test?" :)

I just love this kid o' mine.  He is so stinkin' adorable and I feel blessed to be his Mom.

Our Wedding Anniversary/Valentines Day

Hello Family and Friends.

Today, Lance and I celebrate our 8th Wedding Anniversary.  How romantic that we got married on Valentines Day.  Look at these beautiful flowers Lance had delivered for me.

There is something about flowers that are delivered.  I love flowers no matter where they come from or how they get to me, but it means so much more to have them delivered by a flower company as opposed to being handed a bunch of flowers bought at Wal-Mart :)

Not only flowers, but a box of chocolates too ! :)

Look how beautiful they are close up :) I love the variety of color.

We had a wonderful day yesterday.  Whilst today is our official anniversary and Valentines Day, we celebrated yesterday.

"Happy Anniversary Lance"

Wishing all my friends and family a very Happy Valentines Day today! Whether you are married or single, there are many people who love you.

Our new addition

Hello Family and Friends,

Welcome to our family blog.  Being that I live approximately 5000 miles away from my family, I want to share our lives the best I can through this blog.  I don't get to see my friends as often as I would like and I decided starting a family blog was a good idea.
Life is very busy for me as a Wife, Mom, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and Employee, but you know I wouldn't want it any other way.  My dear Father who passed away in January, 2009....(I doubt I will ever to be able to type that without tears streaming down my face) was the kind of person who was always on the go.  He was always at his happiest when he was helping others. He certainly didn't like to waste time simply sitting and doing nothing.

We had a new addition to our family this year.  This addition is not a human baby but a puppy.  We named her Bella and she is absolutely fabulous. Having not grown up with a dog, this is something new to me, but I am loving her presence.

Here are a few pictures :)

I didn't think I could ever enjoy a dog being around the house, but I have been proved wrong.
